Suzanne Armstrong learned how to make artworks from her mother, Nita Williamson (Kalka) and has developed a very distinctive sculptural style incorporating wire and raffia. Suzanne's best known works are her wiry natural raffia sculptures, 'malu-papas' (kangaroo-dogs) - referencing dogs that chase kangaroos during hunting. Suzanne has also utilised her unique style into other animals and objects, including camels and bicycles. Suzanne, Nita, and their respective partners Clinton Ginger and Arnold Nipper are highly supportive of the artists and the family usually make these artworks together.
