Artist Biography

Cathy has begun weaving recently, though has watched the women of her community making tjanpi and sometimes helped. She quickly understood how to handle the grasses and how to stitch the sculptures to make them strong.

Cathy also makes bead necklaces and paints for Tjungu Palya Art Centre in Nyapari.

Cathy loves climbing the beautiful red rock hills of her country, she sits at the top and looks out over the land, seeing the colours and shapes. She feels all this inside when she makes her artwork.
