Artist Biography

Nancy Jackson is a senior Tjanpi artist and prolific maker of Tjanpi baskets. Nancy was born on country near the WA and NT borders and now lives in the Warakurna community. She is a skilled bush woman and a well-respected artist amongst her peers.

She has been making baskets since 1995 and has developed a distinctive style with flat-bottomed rounded baskets and spacious stitching. In this series of baskets Nancy has also incorporated wipya (emu) feather trimmings to accompany her distinctive style.
