Artist Biography

Tjulkiwa Atira Atira was born near Pukatja (Ernabella, SA) in the early 1950s. Her mother, Kuntjiria Mick, is a renowned basket maker, whose works are in private collections, including the Laverty Collection. Tjulkiwa lived in Ernabella for much of her life, and moved to Pipalyatjara in 2006. She continue to make quirky sculptures inspired by the animals of her desert home.
