Bernadine was born in Alice Springs and grew up in Jameson. Bernadine is new to making Tjanpi in 2019 and has attended a number of skills development workshops, where she displays a wonderful flair and natural talent for sculptural works. Bernadine has watched and learned to make Tjanpi from her mother Lydia Smith (Warburton) and her auntie Lisa Simms (Jameson). Bernadine's first sculptures were two fabulous tjilkamarta (echidnas).
