Naomi is a prolific artist, hunter, basket maker and wood carver. from Amata in APY Lands. She is recognised for her knowledge of the Tjukurrpa stories of the area. Naomi's mother's dreaming is the malu (kangaroo). 

Naomi is also a ngangkari (traditional healer). Ngangkari provide traditional healing treatments and practices of the mind, body and spirit. They are equal to western doctors in their effectiveness for Aboriginal people of her region.
