Tjanpi at Revealed 2025: Celebrating the Birds of the Ngaanyatjarra Lands

Tjanpi Desert Weavers is thrilled to be part of Revealed 2025 at a new location showcasing a stunning collection titled Tjulpu Pirni Ngaanyatjarra Lands Pangka Nyinapai (All the Birds Living in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands).

This collection celebrates the tjulpu (birds) of the Ngaanyatjarra Lands, brought to life through vibrant fibre and native grasses. Birds hold deep cultural significance, their songs and movements woven into stories of Country. Each sculpture reflects the artists’ observations of tjulpu in their environment—perched in trees, soaring above the spinifex, or calling out across the desert.

As part of Revealed 2025, this work will be exhibited alongside artworks from across Western Australia, highlighting the incredible creative diversity of Aboriginal artists. The exhibition runs from 12 April – 15 June 2025 at PICA, with all works available for purchase.

Featured Tjanpi artists: Yanyangkari Roma Butler, Cynthia Burke, Dianne Ungukalpi Golding, Nancy Jackson, Winifred Reid & Roshanna Williamson.
