Deane Braedon
Deane is part of a large family of Tjanpi artists now based in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. Her mother, Ann Cleary-Farrall has been teaching her art-making skills; Deane's sisters are Tjanpi fibre artist Rochelle Ferguson and Tjanpi jewellery-maker Eva Dixon. Deane first learned to make Tjanpi in 2013 and also used to make jewllery. She is just starting to have more time for art-making again in 2018, now that her four children are growing up. She enjoys making both baskets and sculptures and hopes to continue learning and making Tjanpi.
