Joyce is a young woman living in Warakurna, WA. Born in Laverton WA, Joyce spent her childhood between Kaltukatjara (Docker River) NT, and Warakurna WA. Joyce grew up watching her grandmother, esteemed artist Tjukapati James, making Tjanpi. She is now married to the son of senior Tjanpi artist Dianne Golding and has been making Tjanpi baskets and sculptures since 2018. Her first artwork was a little basket and her first sculpture was a tinka (lizard). Joyce says that she loves making Tjanpi artworks because they make her feel calm.
