Yuminiya Ken (also know as Yangkuyi) was born in Pukatja, and recalls stories of her family travelling by camel and horse across the lands to Yunyariny (Kenmore Park), Finke and back again. Yuminiya learned arts and crafts at Ernabella Arts, including rug weaving.

Yuminiya is a highly-respected senior woman and is also a long-time Tjanpi artist who works predominantly on making lovely baskets, but is also adept at sculptural works too. Yuminiya's work is characterised by neat large stitching and often incorporates the use of emu feathers (wipiya).
