Renita Roberts
Renita Roberts was born in Amata, SA and grew up in Irrunytju WA. She now lives in Pipalyatjara, SA and learned to make Tjanpi from Mrs Burke, the mother of Tjanpi artist and artsworker Cynthia Burke. Renita is predominantly a basket weaver who creates magnificent and iconic Tjanpi baskets that reflect the colours and forms of her country. The colours and forms expressed in her work encapsulate the sunrises and sunsets, deep waterholes and dramatic rock formations that are the physical and spiritual makeup of Central Australia.
