Revealed Exhibition
Tjanpi Desert Weavers is thrilled to be back at Revealed in 2026 showcasing a lineup of 25 works titled Beep Beep! Driving All Around the Desert. The collection honours the vital role cars, trucks and buses play across extremely remote NPY Lands. Each work represents a personal mechanical tale or connection – from flat tyre sagas to cherished family cars. All pieces are available for sale.
‘Cars help people get around everywhere. They take people to the bush, to the shop, the clinic, HACC. They take families to other communities for football, weekend drives, funerals. It gets really hot here, and we are a long way from the big cities, so having a good car with cooling is important. We make sure we take lots of water, and a spare tyre. We can drive to the nearest big town, Laverton, where we can catch a bus to Kalgoorlie.’ - Olive Lawson, Warburton WA
These works will be exhibited alongside artworks from across Western Australia, highlighting the incredible creative diversity of Aboriginal artists. The exhibition runs from 18 April – 14 June at PICA.
Featured Tjanpi artists: Eliza Munroe, Paula Sarkaway Lyons, Olive Lawson, Hazel Giles. Teresa Duncan, Barbara Lane, Antoinette Williamson, Leshelle McLean, Justine Mitchell, Serina Mitchell, Winifred Reid, Joyce James, Lisa Boogar, Sally Foster, Delilah Shepherd, Renita Roberts, Anyupa Nelson, Jennifer Ward Connelly, Angkaliya Nelson, Tanisha Fox, Kathleen Ward, Loria Heffernan, Caroline Ginger and Renae Fox.
