Out bush, a weaving circle is more than just weaving. Grass is twisted and shaped into something beautiful. Stories are shared, aunties teaching younger women, cheeky laughter and sometimes serious talk, too.

This is how Tjanpi art begins.

Across remote desert communities, Anangu and Yarnangu women come together to create fibre art that travels far beyond the desert - into houses, galleries and collections around the world. Through this work, women earn meaningful income, support families and care for culture.
